On August 15, 2026, West Coast Cultural Lab brought our Community Art Jam back for another morning of art, music and connection in Vancouver at 21st & Main Plaza.
We wanted to create an open and welcoming space where people could stop by, experiment, meet someone new and enjoy being creative together.

A Morning of Art, Music and Community
Throughout the morning, people added their own marks to our community doodle wall, experimented with upcycling art, discovered work by local creatives, and created surprise cards for strangers, small handmade messages that could brighten someone else’s day.
Live music by Moon Razor brought its own energy to the space and gave people another reason to stay, hang out and enjoy the morning together.
Some people came to make art. Some sat and listened to the music, flipped through our curated books, chatted with artists, or simply spent time in the space.
There was no single way to take part and that was exactly the point.
Art Jam is not only about making something. It is about creating an easy, welcoming space where art, music and people can naturally come together.
Creativity Without Pressure
One of the goals of West Coast Cultural Lab is to make creative experiences feel accessible.
Art can sometimes feel like something you need training, materials or confidence to participate in. Art Jam is designed to remove some of those barriers.
There is no right way to take part.
You can draw a line, make an entire artwork, listen to music, talk to someone you have never met before, or simply observe.
Creativity can begin with something very small. So, we have an open area for anyone to doodle their favourite person or thing. Also, an upcycling art jam corner with Emily Lau.
Thank You to Our Creative Community
Thank you to the artists, musicians, volunteers and community members who helped make Community Art Jam 2026 possible.

We were especially happy to meet people who had previously discovered West Coast Cultural Lab or Vancouver On Ink online and were joining one of our events in person for the first time.
These moments remind us why we continue creating community-centred arts and cultural projects in Vancouver.
We look forward to creating more opportunities for people to meet, experiment and make something together.
Keep creating. Keep growing together.
