About Vancouver On Ink
Vancouver on Ink is proudly catalogued at Library and Archives Canada and the University of British Columbia Library, recorded in national databases (Aurora and Viola) and preserved as part of Canada’s cultural memory.
It is a free seasonal print publication that shares local stories, art, culture, and wellness resources. We publish three issues per year, each paired with a Community Art Jam event. The project is created for everyone who values real-world connection in today’s fast-moving digital age.
This is the first project of the West Coast Cultural Lab, a non-profit dedicated to building bridges between generations, cultures, and communities.

Why do we still print?
In 2025, when many major newspapers have gone fully digital, we chose to start in print.
Too many seniors in our city have been left out of the online conversation. There are still people of all ages who value art and culture, and who appreciate stories they can hold, share, and revisit, not just scroll past.
Printing lets stories travel by hand, from neighbour to neighbour and table to table. Each issue is placed in local bookstores, cafés, cinemas, and community spaces, and delivered door to door in areas with many seniors.
Our aim is simple: to offer a small boost, a thoughtful pause, and a way to reconnect with art, ideas, and community. The pages are not chosen for you by an algorithm. They are chosen by us, with intention, and read by you, at your own pace. We hope this paper finds the readers who are meant to find it.
Vancouver On Ink is our bridge between generations, between cultures, and between digital and analog worlds.
