A note from the publisher
Before starting Vancouver On Ink, I honestly didn’t know if it would work.
Too many voices told me that no one reads print anymore. But as I reached out to distribute the paper, store by store, I discovered something different. There are still many people in our city who enjoy slowing down, picking up a paper, and spending time with it.
This publication exists because of the contributors. Thank you to every writer, artist, illustrator, photographer, and creator who trusted this space and shared your work. As an artist myself, I know how much creators need a place to be seen, to be heard, and to connect with an audience. I hope Vancouver On Ink can be a place you trust.
A special thank-you
A special shout-out to Diana Filler, creator of Diana’s Quiz. Diana is a science producer best known for her work on Quirks & Quarks at CBC Radio. Her quiz brings curiosity, playfulness, and thoughtful questioning into our pages, and we’re happy to share that Diana’s Quiz will become a regular section in Vancouver On Ink.
Looking ahead: Paws Land Community Series
Our next gathering will also be our annual community event.
Paws Land Community Series was created to raise public awareness around animal welfare and to honour the people who dedicate their time, energy, and care to animal rescue. At its core, the project is about respect, visibility, and community.
The series includes a documentary film following a four-year animal rescue journey, with a community screening at The Cinematheque.
